Experimental and Theoretical Study of One-Way Cyclic Lateral Responses of Piles in Sloping Ground

This study aims to investigate the one-way cyclic lateral responses of piles in sloping ground by means experimental and theoretical analyses. For this purpose, a series laboratory model experiments were performed for different cases cycle number, load amplitude, slope angle, static loading tests on both level conducted comparison. Based these observations, effects angle pile head deflection profiles bending moment subgrade reaction are discussed. The profile is difficult measure directly owing restriction conditions, thus supplementary finite beam element method (FBEM) provided compensate deficiency. comparisons between results demonstrate that FBEM can well predict ground, either under or loading.
